Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials on Friday said G Raviraj, the 57-year-old senior cashier of State Bank of Mysore (SBM), who committed suicide on December 28, was nowhere on their radar.
"We had nothing against him in the way of an allegation or complaint on our records," a senior CBI official said on condition of anonymity.
"There was a joint surprise visit, in coordination with top officials of the bank, recently at the Bengaluru branch. But, we did not have had any intention to quiz him," said the official.
Raviraj committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Vannarpet near Viveknagar. His family said he was upset over the reports in a few local news channels of him being questioned by the CBI in a money exchange scam.
