A 30-year-old man from West Bengal has been arrested for attempting to sodomise a 22-year-old youth he befriended while returning from a pub in Koramangala, southeast Bengaluru, last week.
Sanjay, 30, who works as a cook, met the man while walking home around 11 pm on December 5 and introduced himself as a professional working at a private company. He chatted him up and took him to a desolate place. He unbuttoned his trousers and flashed at him. He then tried to sodomise him. The man spurned his advances and ran into a nearby bar. The suspect waited there for sometime but went home later, a police officer said.
The victim approached the police on December 9 and filed a complaint. He told the police that he was drunk when Sanjay tried to sodomise him and that's why he didn't immediately realise what he was up to.
When asked why he filed the complaint late, the man said he was in a state of shock and it took him four days to come out of it. Ajay, inspector, Koramangala police station, said the suspect had been booked under IPC sections 377 (unnatural offences) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
