Retired IAS officer M N Vijayakumar, on Monday, wrote to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) to investigate the 'crooked methods' adopted by the government to prevent international bidders from participating in the steel flyover project.
The complaint letter has also questioned whether L&T had jointly bid for the steel bridge project with another company, which was not only blacklisted in 2012, but also a major construction (Vivekananda flyover in Kolkata) undertaken by it had collapsed during trials.
"The project, which may cause loss of life, is being pursued only to loot huge public money and that they do not care even for the lives of citizens," Vijayakumar notes in the letter.
