The state government will soon have a policy for hospice and palliative care, according to Dr K B Lingegowda, director, Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology.
He was speaking at an event organised to observe the World Hospice Care and Palliative Care day recently. He explained that in the first phase, the policy would be implemented in Mysuru, Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Raichur and Belagavi. As many as 1,500 patients benefit from the palliative care at Kidwai every month.
