Two home makers committed suicide in separate incidents at DJ Halli and Rajagopalanagar on Friday.
A 24-year-old housewife hanged herself from the ceiling of her house at Muneshwara Layout in DJ Halli. The deceased is Pakeeza. The victim was alone at home when she took the extreme step.
The incident came to light when her husband, Hussain, returned from work and alerted the police and the family members. The victim was shifted to a nearby hospital, but was declared brought dead.
"Family members of Pakeeza said that they were shocked, as she was leading a happy life," police said.
A 40-year-old woman hanged herself at her house in Hegganahalli, Rajagopalanagar. Police said the victim, Manjula was married to Ram, a dhobi, 25 years ago and the couple have three children.
Recently, Ram expired and the responsibility of bringing up the children fell on Manjula.
