Rotary Club of Bangalore (RCB) on Tuesday singed a pact with AXA insurance for the implementation of key social projects in the fields of education, health and employment generation.
Ranga Rao, president of RCB, at a press conference said the partnership is special as it addresses many areas of RCBs focus such as education, health, water and sanitation, economic upliftment, environment protection among others. The company has agreed to give Rs 92 lakh to develop educational infrastructure at Kodur village, Kolar district. This apart, the RCB will use the funds to provide better employment opportunities through training. Rao said the fund will also be used to set up a dialysis centre equipped with five machines. The RCB, however, is yet to decide on where to set up the dialysis unit.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Rao and Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer (India), AXA Business Services, Solomon Devaraj. RCB so far have built 17 schools in the city and more than 20 schools in Malur taluk in Kolar.
