A 18-year-old boy was rescued by the Pulakeshi Nagar police recently, from a group of transgenders who had abducted him and mutilated his genitals. A senior police officer said, "The boy went missing five months ago. Based on a complaint filed by the boy's mother, the victim was traced to Chikkaballapur. He was found working in a public toilet, from where he was rescued."
"He was brought to the city and reunited with his mother. A couple of weeks ago, he was admitted to a hospital for an ailment. The doctors found out about the genital mutilation and informed the police, who visited the boy. He told them that the operation was conducted with his consent. But the boys mother approached a few media channels and carried out a sting operation in Pulakeshi Nagar. It was found that the boy was abducted by a group of transgenders," the officer said. The boys mother has been asked to approach the Pulakeshi Nagar police and register a complaint, based on which, a probe will be conducted.
