A 25-year-old man, who was on herbal medication and was exerting himself to lose weight, died on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Gangaraju, a resident of Hanumanthagowdahalli, Nelamangala. He was trying to shed weight for the past 15 days.
According to Dr Chinna Durai, chief intensivist, Sparsh Hospital, Goraguntepalya, Gangaraju's family said that he was on herbal medication for weight reduction. "His heart had stopped beating when he was rushed to the hospital. After 20 minutes of cardiac massage, he was revived. There was no urine output and he was put on dialysis," added Dr Durai.
The doctors could do little to save him as the acid collection in his body was very high and his pancreas were affected. "His blood pressure went low, and he suffered a cardiac arrest," he added.
