Darshan, a class 9 student of Sainik Public School, Kaverinagar, Bengaluru, who had gone missing on September 12 after protests erupted over Cauvery water row, was traced to Shivamogga on Wednesday.

According to railway police, the boy in uniform was seen wandering on the premises of the railway station in the city since Tuesday night.

Upon enquiry, he revealed that he was tense after protests broke out in Bengaluru while coming out of the school. He boarded the Shivamogga train at Yeshwantpur railway station by mistake and got down in Bhadravathi.

He boarded another train and reached Shivamogga, the railway police said. His parents are residing at Preethinagar near Laggere, Bengaluru.

The boy has been handed over to his relatives in Shivamogga after speaking to his parents over phone, the railway police added.

Meanwhile, the 12-member team comprising family and friends of Manjunath Kulal, the Tempo Traveller driver who was thrashed by Tamilians at Rameshwaram, have returned to Udupi safely.
