All government offices, including those located at the Vidhana Soudha, Vikasa Soudha and the MS Building, wore a deserted look due to the Karnataka bandh on Friday.
Both, the Karnataka Government Secretariat Employees' Association and the Karnataka Government Employees' Association, had supported the bandh call given on the Cauvery issue. The government had tacitly supported the bandh and none of the ministers attended their office at the Vidhana Soudha and the Vikas Soudha. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, too, did not show up for work at the Vidhana Soudha.
The police were directed to restrict entry of people into the Vidhana Soudha and the Vikasa Soudha. When activists of the Karunada Sene tried to barge into the Vidhana Soudha, they were not allowed entry.
