The High Court on Thursday ordered notice to the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) and S Krishnappa - former engineer-in-chief, BWSSB, in a petition challenging the formation of a technical committee and appointing Krishnappa as its chairperson.
The petitioner - Rudre Gowda, former president of the BWSSB Employees' Association has contended that though Krishnappa retired from the service, he had been given extension. A technical committee was formed under political influence for which Krishnappa was appointed as the chairperson.
The petitioner has contended that Krishnappa had been provided special privileges such as an office and vehicle at the expense of the Board.
The petitioners had sought stay on the operation of the order for formation of the sub-committee and also to quash the said order. A division bench comprising Chief Justice S K Mukherjee and Justice Ravi Malimath ordered notice and adjourned the hearing.
