The third edition of the Israeli film festival which begins in the city on Friday will take one through the life and culture of Israel. The event will be held till September 25. The films will be screened at the Rangoli Centre, Bangalore International Center, MGRoad Metro Station, Suchitra Film academy and the Alliance Française, during the festival.

Through the 10 Israeli films, one can experience the Israeli society, personal and public conflicts, or learn about the Israeli life and atmosphere, as well as its history and touristic attractions. This and several other events are being organised in the city to commemorate 25 years of the India-Israel relationship.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 'Open A Door to Israel' at the MG Road Metro Station on Thursday, Yael Hashavit, Consul General of Israel, Bengaluru, said that to help people connect, it was important to consider similarities and they found Bengaluru had similar qualities as that of Israel. "Israelis are creative and innovative. 'Open a door to Israel' exhibit is all about creative energy. We want to share and show how we live, how we work, how we developed our country from a desert into a flourishing heaven. Today, we share our unique experience, our way of thinking, our energy with you," she added.

In addition, the Rangoli Metro Art Centre at MGRoad would see an exhibition of the portraits of people from Israel and the various inventions from the country. While the first phase of the 'Open a Door to Israel' would involve going about the curiosity doors, the second would be a multimedia presentation. 'Open a Door to Israel' will be open to public between September 9 and 25 from 11 am to 8 pm (Mon-Thu) and 11 am to 10 pm (Fri-Sun) at the MG Road Metro Station (Gate A).
