A total of 138 people took ill after consuming 'prasad' at a religious function at Haikal village in the taluk late on Friday night.
Holige (sweet pancakes) was distributed as prasad at the Yellammadevi temple atop a hillock as part of the annual feast.
Around 11 pm, devotees who had consumed the 'prasad' complained of stomachache, vomiting and diarrhoea.
The victims were taken to the local primary health centre for treatment. About 15 of them were admitted to the district hospital in Chitradurga.
Taluk health officer Palaksha told DHthat all those admitted to the hospitals were stable.
