A car driven by a drunk driver claimed the life of a 25-year-old motorcyclist in the city on Saturday night. The deceased has been identified as Anand, a native of Belagavi. He was working as an executive with a private firm in the city.
According to police, Anand and his colleague Naveen Kumar were returning home from work when a speeding car knocked their bike down on Bommanahalli Road. Passersby shifted both of them to a nearby private hospital where Anand was declared brought dead.
Taken into custody
The car driver, identified as Manjunath, was found drunk and the police took him into custody immediately. Madiwala traffic police have registered a case.
