The state BJPon Sunday petitioned the chief electoral officer (CEO) of Karnataka, against the conduct and behaviour of four state government officials on election duty in Gundlupet Assembly constituency.
In a petition addressed to CEO, Karnataka, Anil Kumar Jha, BJPstate secretary NShankarappa and party state spokesperson Ashwathnarayana have stated that the four officials are working in favour of the ruling Congress. Bypoll in Gundlupet, along with Nanjangud constituency, will be held on April 9.
The party has named the officials as Rameshwarappa, deputy director, food and civil supplies; Basappa, DDPI; Shivamadaiah, assistant executive engineer, zilla panchayat, and Revanna, executive officer, taluk panchayat. The BJP has charged that the officers are working as "agents" of the ruling Congress. The party has sought the immediate transfer of these officials.
