Railway staff in Bengaluru division are set to go suave in the coming days as the railway authorities are training them in soft skills, including stress management and meditation.
Additional Divisional Railway Manager of Bengaluru Division, Aparna Garg, who inaugurated the programme on Friday, said the front line staff help build the image of the railways since they directly deal with public.
"Their personality reflects large in public. Soft skills training will make them more customer-centric and thereby contributes to improving the quality of services provided," she added.
Senior Divisional Personnel Officer K Asif Hafeez said the trainees include ticket checking staff, reservation supervisors, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, train escorting staff, welfare inspectors and station masters who come under direct contact with people.
Bridging the gap
"The training programme will involve inter-personnel competence, increase emotional quotient and help staff achieve the objectives with a smile. All staff of Bengaluru division will be covered in the coming days as we continue to bridge the gap between
the expectations of the customer and our services," he added.
A post-training assessment will be made to study the performance and attitude of the staff.
