Water wastage
In many parts of the city, I see people wasting gallons of precious water while making rangoli outside their homes and washing vehicles. They are wasting water because it's easily available in their homes. The BWSSB isn't doing anything to educate citizens on conserving every drop of water.

Reopen subway on Nrupathunga Road
It's a difficult task crossing Nrupathunga Road because of dense traffic. The subway opposite the RBI office has been closed for repair. In the absence of any other pedestrian underpass, people have to risk their lives to cross the busy road. I appeal to the authorities concerned to reopen the underpass before any accident takes place. There were accidents involving RBI staff before the subway was built.

Shift bus stop, reduce congestion
The stop for BMTC buses plying towards Nagarabhavi and Kengeri is located near the water tank in Vijayanagar. Four roads intersect here. Apart from the autorickshaw stand at the intersection, there are vendors encroaching on the footpath. Needless to say, the intersection is congested. Senior citizens and women find it difficult to walk. The situation worsens when more than one bus stops by. Commuters just run helter-skelter to board the bus. The problem can be easily solved by moving the bus stop around 200 feet behind, near Sri Sankastahara Ganapathi Temple. I request the authorities concerned to look into the suggestion.

Stray dogs in Chandra Layout
Stray dogs seem to have flooded BCC Layout, Chandra Layout, and the surrounding areas. They roam around and create problems for residents at night. Sometimes, they even bite people. We request the BBMP to find a solution to the problem at the earliest.

Dangerous intersection
At Santhe Circle in Yelahanka where seven roads meet, there are no zebra crossings, traffic lights or policemen to help people safely cross over. People crossing the intersection are at the mercy of motorists. The matter was brought to the notice of the authorities on September 22, 2014, but no action has been taken. I request the authorities again to instal traffic lights or post traffic policemen at the intersection for the benefit of pedestrians.

Park becomes vice den
There is a small park at 8th 'A' Main in Jayanagar, 3rd Block, (behind Aarthi Diagnostics). While schoolchildren visit the park in the morning, the evenings belong to unscrupulous youths who smoke, consume alcohol and drugs and carry out other illegal activities. We request the officials concerned to catch these people and punish them to save the park. The park has the dog menace, too, as at least 20 strays loiter in it at any given point in time. It is scary to walk on the road, especially at night.

Too many strays in Allalasandra
The numbers of stray dogs is increasing in and around Janapriya Apartments in Allalasandra. The Animal Birth Control programme has not been conducted for many years now. We request the BBMP to take up the issue on priority and carry out the ABC programme at the earliest. The dogs are drawn to the locality by the numerous chicken shops and kebab centres on the footpath. The dogs often chase motorcyclists, causing many accidents.

Don't fell trees in Jayamahal
The BBMP has decided to fell dozens of trees just for widening a short stretch of Jayamahal Road. We personally tried to talk the authorities out of the tree-felling proposal but they were no in mood to listen. We have been living in Jayamahal since 1950 and strongly oppose tree-felling.

Salute to green warriors
It's difficult to digest why the authorities are ignoring public protests against the proposed felling of trees on Jayamahal Road. A city once proud of its green canopy and balmy climate is fast turning into a concrete jungle. Bengaluru's green warriors deserve credit for trying to reason with the authorities to spare the trees.

Eateries dumping leftovers on road
Food vendors have encroached upon the footpaths on 20th Main Road in BTM1st Stage. They dump the leftovers on the road side which attract dogs, cows and ragpickers. These vendors and eateries should be advised to dispose of leftovers properly.

Ply buses to Kadirenahalli Cross
The BMTC is requested to ply buses from Nayandahalli Cross to Deve Gowda Petrol Bunk terminating at Padmanabhanagar or at Kadirenahalli Cross, every 15 minutes. Though more number of buses operate from Kengeri to KRMarket, very less passengers take this route. I hope BMTC will do its best at the earliest to avoid inconvenience to commuters travelling to various parts of Nagarabhavi , Kengeri, Nayandahalli among others.

BMTC buses needed
People from RPC Layout, Hampinagar and surrounding areas commute to KR Market, Majestic, Shivajinagar and different parts of the city by BMTC buses everyday. However, there is a shortage of buses, specially during the peak hours in the morning and evening. The BMTC needs to ply more buses on the above routes to help commuters.
Affected residents
Garbage menace
Residents are greeted by the stink of dead animals and hotel waste strewn around the Sumanahalli junction. People waiting for buses below the Sumanahalli bridge are suffocated by the smell and are helpless. Will the authorities of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike take corrective measures and ensure people in this junction breathe clean air?

Gap in median strip
On 16th Main Road near a traffic junction in BTM Layout, 1st Stage, there are gaps in the median strip. Motorcyclists ride into the median strip without caring about traffic rules. It is a chaotic junction. Traffic rules must be enforced strictly.

Trash dumped on vacant plot
Afew people are disposing of waste on an empty plot near Sarvabhoumanagar, Bilekahalli. This is raising a huge stink and leading to accumulation of garbage. The plot has become a haunt for rats and stray dogs. Adding to the owes, some people set fire to the garbage every week resulting in harmful and irritating fumes choking the whole of neighbourhood. A flex banner stating Keep the plot garbage free and penalising people who dump garbage may solve the problem.
