The members of Kudlu Gate, Haralur, Haralukunte, Somasundarapalya and Parangipalya (KHHSP) — a federation of the residents' welfare associations — have claimed that the Karnataka Compost Development Corporation's garbage recycling plant at HSRLayout had been processing trash far in excess of its installed capacity.
Addressing a press meet, the members said that while the installed capacity of the plant was 60 tonnes per day, around 150 tonnes of garbage was being recycled at the unit.
Kamesh Rastogi, a member, said that many people living in the vicinity of the plant were suffering from skin diseases and breathing problems.
