A priest-cum-astrologer was found murdered in his office at MV Garden near Halasuru, east Bengaluru, on Thursday night. Police suspect that someone known to him entered his office and stabbed him to death. The victim is Vasu, 53.
Vasu had been living with his family on the first floor and ran an office on the ground floor where he met clients who sought advice on astrology. After having dinner on Thursday night, he went to his office to retire for the day.
The next morning, when his mother came down to wake him, she found the shutter of his office half-open. She went in and was stunned to find her son lying in a pool of blood.
She raised an alarm and alerted the neighbours. The Halasuru police arrived at the spot and took the body for post-mortem. A senior police officer said members of Vasu's family were being questioned. A case has been registered at Halasuru police station.
