A 21-year-old man was killed in a road accident at Pepsi Gate near Kumbalgodu, off Mysuru Road on Sunday afternoon.
The police identified the victim as Srinivas Prasad, 21, a resident of Kenchanaguppe in Bidadi. He was the only son of his parents and an employee at a hotel in Bidadi. The accident occurred around 3.30 pm when he was standing on the roadside. Driver of a Mysuru-bound Tempo Traveller rear-ended goods vehicle. The Tempo Traveller veered onto the roadside and ran over Prasad. He died on the spot due to massive injuries. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot.
The police have seized the vehicle and are on the lookout for the driver. Prasad's body was shifted to Rajarajeshwarinagar Medical College for post mortem, the police said.
