The KSRTC on Saturday cut rates of monthly bus passes on express routes from the 4th stage to 20th stage.
The reduction varies between Rs 100 and Rs 400. "The monthly passes will be issued up to 20 chargeable stages only, on routes where express services are in operation.
Passengers having monthly passes for express buses are allowed to travel in both express and ordinary services. There is no change in the present rates of ordinary services. Passengers having monthly passes for ordinary services can travel in ordinary services only," a release said. Besides, the KSRTC has extended blind pass holders' travel facility from within the state to interstate buses.
"Blind pass validity period is increased from three years to five years. Blind pass holders can avail this pass at the time of the next renewal. Till such time the passes are renewed, pass holders are allowed to travel in interstate express buses. Blind pass holders can reserve seats in express buses without payment of reservation fee."
