A 19-year-old man injured in a road accident near Nagarabhavi on Thursday night, succumbed to injuries in the early hours of Friday. The deceased, Vijay, was a resident of Dasarahalli and a private company employee. He was on his way to meet his friend, when the accident occurred.
Police said while overtaking, Vijay failed to notice a bike coming from the opposite direction and collided head-on into the two-wheeler. The bike rider escaped with minor injuries, but Vijay collapsed. The Vijayanagar traffic police shifted him to a private hospital where he gained consciousness, but fainted again. He died on the way, while being shifted to Nimhans, for further treatment.
Though he did not sustain any external injuries, police suspect that internal injuries might have led to his death. A bike enthusiast, Vijay was fond of automobiles, said police, quoting his friends. He had bought a bike without his parent's knowledge, who were against him riding two-wheelers. The Vijayanagar traffic police have registered a case.
