A 28-year-old man committed suicide by hanging at his house at Mathikere on Friday night.The deceased is Sandesh, a native of Kasargod. He was working as a assistant at a medical store at Subbaiah Hospital in Mathikere from 2013.
An amount of Rs 25,000 had gone missing from the medical store's cash box two days ago. Sandesh was upset as the hospital management office-bearers had suspected his involvement in the incident, said the police.
He hanged himself on Friday night when he was alone at home.The incident came to light after his brother Dinesh returned home.
Sandesh had left behind a death note saying that he was disappointed that he was falsely accused of theft. He stated that he was forced to take the extreme step due to the allegations.
Based on Dinesh's complaint, the police registered a case under IPCSection 306 (abetment of suicide) against the management.
