A 21-year-old habitual offender attempted suicide by setting himself ablaze inside the toilet at Bommanahalli police station on Saturday night.
Ravi alias Chappar Ravi, a resident of Hosa Road, was taken to a hospital.He is under treatment and out of danger.
According to police, Ravi was detained in connection with a robbery and brought to the police station for an inquiry. He went inside the toilet to relieve himself around 7.30 pm.
He closed the door from inside and set himself on fire using a match box.
The police grew suspicious after smoke billowed from the toilet.They broke open the door and shifted Ravi to a hospital. Ravi is involved in five theft cases.The police have booked him for committing suicide, said the police.
