A 19-year-old girl was killed on the spot and her brother escaped with minor injuries after a BMTC bus hit the bike they were riding on, near Lakshmi Super Speciality hospital in Sunkadakatte on Monday evening.
The deceased Mamatha was a Pharmacy student at KLE Pharmacy College in Rajajinagar.Her brother Mahadeva (17) is a second-year PU student. Both are residents of RPC Layout.
Around 6 pm, the two were returning home after visiting a relative's house, when the bus hit them from behind. Mamatha fell down and came under its front wheel, while Mahadeva sustained minor injuries.
The bus driver has been detained. It is not known, whether Mahadeva had a driving licence, the police said.
