According to an estimate, there are 4,800-odd properties and layouts across the city, where the property owners have not got 'A' khata as they have not paid the betterment charges. The BBMP has fixed Rs 250 in newly added areas and Rs 200 in the layouts in old Bengaluru.
Speaking to DH, taxation and finance committee chairperson M K Gunashekar said before starting the collection drive, the Palike will issue advertisements in the media.
"A stay by the high court on collecting betterment charges has been lifted. We are expecting a revenue of Rs 200 crore to Rs 250 crore from this move," said Gunashekar.
