A28-year-old youth was brutally assaulted by a gang of unidentified persons near Arjun Colony in Varthur Sunday night.
According to the police, Shivu, a labourer and a resident of Varthur, was on his way to meet his friends when he was assaulted. Aprofusely bleeding Shivu collapsed on the road. Passersby rushed to his aid while the attackers fled the spot.
Shivu was shifted to a nearby hospital and his condition is stated to be critical. Police suspect that the attack is due to personal enmity. A case has been registered at the Varthur police station.
