A gang of four men took away gold jewellery, cash and two mobile phones from five Kerala-based businessmen by setting up a honey trap for them. Acting on a complaint filed by one of the victims, police have arrested three suspects but the kingpin and two women remain elusive.

The businessmen came to Bengaluru on October 28 for Deepavali shopping and checked into a lodge in Seshadripuram. They contacted a man who works as a pimp and whom they knew before. They asked him to provide some sex workers.

The man brought the women and took them, along with the clients, to a house in Chelkere, Hennur. The men paid him and he left the place. Just then, one of the girls sent a WhatsApp message to one M Rasheed, 34, giving the address. A short while later, Rasheed and three others — Mohammed Saud, 29, Mohammed Shabir, 40, and Firoze — barged into the house. Claiming to be policemen, they warned the men against indulging in illegal activities.

They robbed them, taking away 63-gram gold jewellery, Rs 80,000 in cash and two mobile phones from the victims. They said that if the men went to police, they will leak the pictures to their families. The gang then fled. The girls also ran away.

One of the victims approached the Hennur police station and lodged a complaint. Police tracked down the suspects recently. Firoze is a resident of KG Halli while the other suspects are from Chikkabanaswadi.
