The CCB sleuths arrested four more persons who were involved in dacoity at the residence of Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple priest Vasudeva Asranna at Kateel on October 4. With this, the total number of arrested is 11.
Mangaluru City Police Commissioner M Chandra Sekhar said on Monday the arrested are Bharath Shetty (30) of Karkala, Mohammed Ali (35) of Melkar, Purushotham (44), of Haleyangadi, and Harish Gatti (41) from Ucchila. The police also recovered 455 gram of gold ornaments, a revolver, a pistol, a breech-loading gun, 11 live rounds of ammunition and five mobile phones.
Four teams had been formed to crack the case. The CCB team had visited Maharashtra, Goa, Udupi and Chikkamagaluru to nab suspects. Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested Shetty from Palli, Karkala taluk, on Sunday. Following the clues that he gave, the cops arrested the others.
