A project engineer at Bagmane Tech Park was arrested for reckless riding which claimed a senior citizen's life on Saturday night.
The arrested has been identified as Jayakumar D, 29. The accident happened around 9 pm when the deceased, Tavarimuttu (76), a resident of Nellurpuram near HAL, was crossing SDRoad. Jayakumar rode his bike recklessly and knocked down Tavarimuttu. Tavarimuttu was rushed to Bowring Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries some time later.
The police booked Jayakumar under IPCSection 304 A (causing death due to negligence), arrested him and seized his bike.
