Two unidentified persons broke the lock of a utility box of a bike and made away with Rs 10 lakh kept in it, near State Bank of India in RBI Layout at J P Nagar.
According to the police, Sumanraj, an employee in a private factory at Jigani, had kept the cash in the utility box of his bike.
He went inside the bank while the miscreants made away with the cash.On Tuesday morning, Sumanraj went to Cottonpet and collected Rs 15 lakh in cash from one Selvaraj.
His employer directed him to deposit Rs 5 lakh in a bank and hand over the rest of the amount to him, as he had to pay bonus to the employees.
Accordingly, he went to the bank and deposited Rs 5 lakh. When he came out from the bank, he noticed that his helmet had fallen and the lock of the utility box broken.
He found the cash missing. Sumanraj approached the J P Nagar police and registered a complaint.
The police visited the spot and picked up two suspects. The suspects are being questioned in connection with the case.
