Police from the German state of Bavaria visited the Traffic Management Centre (TMC) on Tuesday and appreciated the system adopted to keep an eye on the traffic in the city.

R Hithendra, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), "Five personnel belonging to the Bavarian police visited the TMC and they were shown how the system works. They appreciated the personnel monitoring the live vehicular movement by sitting inside the office."

"They shared the details of numerous methods they use and how they work on regulating traffic in Germany. The Bavarian police told us that the traffic violation cases registered in Germany are less when compared to that of Bengaluru."

"The fine amount for traffic violation is high and the motorists strictly adhere to the rules in Germany where as in Bengaluru the fine amount is less and there is an increase in traffic violation cases. They also spoke about high density of vehicles on the road in the city and gave us several inputs which will be discussed with the senior police officers.

It will be checked if it is feasible to be implemented here. They have also collected information about how the traffic police work in the city and the technology adopted," another senior police officer explained.
